I've been trying different vegan vietnamese places and this is my favorite so far. The bun rieu was delicious and the bun bo hue was pretty good to other vegan places I've tried. Will definitely come back to try the other options. Highlight: the pandan cake is a must!

The Sun Vegan is a cutely decorated plant-based restaurant located in a plaza with other restaurants. Parking is very easy to find as there is a large parking lot. My friend and I came here for dinner on a weeknight and it wasn't very busy. We were greeted upon entering and seated immediately. We ordered the Spring Rolls and Spicy Lemongrass Chicken to share. The spring rolls were big and stuffed with lots of fresh vegetables. They came with a side of peanut sauce. The Lemongrass Chicken came with a side of rice and Heavenly Salad. The chicken and salad were very flavorful. The sauce for the chicken was one of our favorite parts of the meal. Overall, giving The Sun Vegan a 5/5. Service and ambiance are great, and the food is delicious. Our meal was light and healthy, but flavorful. Highly recommend people to try this spot. Would come back to try other items on the menu.

I've been here a couple times already. Initially came with a girlfriend who is decreasing her intake of meat and eating primarily vegetables for a medical condition. Wanted to introduce her to this place as I found it on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. We enjoyed everything we ordered and shared, including the pho and lemongrass chickun. We also had the coconut pandan cake, which was simply delicious! I came back a second time and brought my coworkers. Everyone loved their dishes. We all felt light and well afterwards but still felt full enough. We will be back when we want to eat a little healthier. We enjoyed the calm ambience and pleasant music.

The Sun Vegan is one of our favorite restaurants in Orange County. We almost always pick up from here every other weekend. That's all I would like to say about this place and I hope I made it clear how good the food is

First time here, we followed previous review suggestions. I'm a vegetarian but my guest is not. We had the spring rolls, lemon grass chickun and Fresh Tomato Noodle Soup. Also the Matcha Iced Tea and Tropical Smoothie! Everything was better than expected! It was a little empty when we came in on a Friday early evening. The atmosphere is great, I love the playlist that was playing; alternative pop. Would highly recommend!

Delicious! The restaurant is hidden in a run down, very old shopping center with random shops. It's inside the shopping center, in a back corner but once you get inside the restaurant, it's very bright and clean. I ordered: blended matcha latte- 5/5 Never had a blended matcha before and it was so good! Spring rolls- 4/5 They're different than regular spring rolls. They have a mushroom blend with sauce inside and wrapped in more leaves in addition to the rice paper. So it's a different flavor than regular spring rolls but still good. Comes with dipping sauces. Spicy lemongrass chickun- 5/5 Really tasty! Comes with salad, rice and chickun. Chickun nuggets- 5/5 Delicious! Has a nice crunch and comes with Ketchup Thai banana rolls- 5/5 I've never had jackfruit in a dessert, it tastes great! I highly recommend coming here.

Really love the atmosphere and food here! I ordered the tofu in tomato sauce and crispy rolls. Definitely recommend getting the multigrain rice with the entree since it's packed with lots of hearty beans! I loved the salad that came with my tofu! Service was super friendly. I'll definitely come back here the next time I'm around the area!

The Sun Vegan is an excellent choice for flavorful, nourishing Vietnamese food in a more upscale setting. The owner, Ana, is passionate about delivering a memorable dining experience to everyone who comes through the door -- vegan or not. The food is reasonably priced and of great quality, too. My husband and I were in the area and came in at a somewhat odd time where it was super late for lunch but still way too early for dinner. Nonetheless, we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. With an extensive menu, it was a little hard for me to decide what to order. I love rice dishes so I chose the Claypot Ocean and hubby went with his favorite, pho. He chose the Hue-style pho called Royal Noodle Soup. The Claypot Ocean was excellent! The vegan "fish" was served in a stoneware bowl along with mushrooms, onions, and eggplant, and everything was glazed with a delectable, savory sauce bursting with umami. It was accompanied by rice and a nice fresh salad. The thoughtfully composed salad provided a bright, fresh counterpoint to the richness of the clay pot. I'd order this again! Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his pho. It came with all the usual fresh toppings and was well seasoned. I enjoyed several spoonfuls of the pho and marveled at the complexity of flavors. Our meals left us feeling happy and sated but not at all heavy or weighed down -- a testament to Sun Vegan's thoughtfully prepared food and carefully chosen ingredients. The owner came over to ask us for feedback. She was very kind, and she radiated warmth. Her mission is to feed people delicious, nourishing vegan meals and she even offers a Tuesday special where a whole plate of food is only $7! I wish we lived closer and could come here more often. We'll be back the next time we're in the area.
